Book feature: How Stella Learned To Talk by Christina Hunger
This book follows Christina Hunger, a speech pathologist, who noticed communication skills in her dog Stella similar to the communication skills toddlers exhibit right before they start saying their first words. She started using buttons as an AAC tool to allow her dog to speak. "This book is eye opening to how much our dogs can understand and communicate. Ever wondered what your dog would say given the ability to speak? Read this book. I'm definitely going to try this when I get a dog in the future." -Emily Have you read this book? Comment on our Facebook post featuring this book or come in and share your thoughts with the librarian! We hope to feature more staff favorites and books from our collection in the future, so keep an eye out on Facebook and the website. |
